I need the deployment.properties not to be overwritten as they hold global settings for Java, including the Java exception list. I need this option to uninstall older versions because, although we deploy Java via GPO we still have some computers maybe 20% with other/mixed versions of Java on that was updated independently of the GPO.Īlso when deploying via the GPO Those two files are still over written. I've modified the MSI in Ocra, but it still doesn't uninstall previous versions of Java. Thanks, but I have tried pushing it out via GPO and it deploys successfully.
Orca is a free program I use to modify the MSI. Sounds much simpler than trying to do it via scripting. Have you considered modifying the MSI that you push out? And if you push them out via GPO, you can also automatically uninstall old versions via GPO as well. I'm not having the same issue as you, I can't offer much for a fix, but maybe an alternative.
